Piemaker Owen Taylor & Sons wins Award at prestigious British Pie Awards

We’re delighted that one of our pies, Owen Taylor’s Chicken Leek and Stilton Pie, won the coveted Chicken & Vegetable / Herb Class announced on Friday at the British Pie Awards. In addition we won a further three Silver Awards.

There was tough competition as there were over 900 pies entered.

We’ve been making our pies for 100 years now and although we know the locals love them, it’s nice to get recognition from a national awards for the quality of what we produce.

Dr Matthew O’Callaghan Chairman of the British Pie Awards said; ‘I’m so pleased that Owen Taylor & Sons are amongst the Award Winners. The judges were very complimentary about the pie which is why it won an Award.’

The British Pie Awards now in its 15th year brings in entries from across the country and from bakers, butchers, pubs, sports clubs, Fish & Chip shops amongst other pie makers judged by a team of 140 judges.
