Owen Taylor & Sons competed in the Q Guild’s annual Smithfield Awards.
This year we scooped five gold’s for our retail products of the Breakfast Mushroom, Country Special Sausage, Peppered Steak Burger, Haslet, and Bacon Steaks. We are extremely proud of this achievement as some high quality butchers enter these competitions and leave with nothing.
The products are representative of the quality of the meat sourced as well as the balance of flavours, textures and smell available in our manufactured goods. Paul Swain, our shop manager is delighted in particular with the breakfast mushroom that was one of the gold award winning products.
Paul says “It combines the classic quality products of mushroom, black pudding, sausage, bacon and tomato into a convenient single baked product”. Lee Gould, our Food Safety Manager attended the award dinner in London on 20th November.
